BJP raps Govt. after CAG exposure
ITANAGAR, Jul 28: The State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded a White Paper from the ruling Congress Government in the state on action taken against the 16 major departments and 25 State Autonomous Bodies, who failed to submit utilisation certificates.
As per CAG report, the party said, 16 major economic and social security govt. departments and 25 State Autonomous Bodies did not submit a total of 148 UCs involving Rs 310.05 Cr. to the competent authority.
The CAG reports exposed the Nabam Tuki led Government’s blatant lies which have been claiming that Utilization Certificates (UCs) were submitted to the Govt. of India but fund are not being released due to intervention of the state BJP.

However, there are also people who are opting out of the PPEM system and are going back to the post paid system.
“For the convenience of the consumers, there is also option of going back to post paid system if one is not happy with the PPEM system,” the EE said.
In the meantime, while the state power department is going ahead with the implementation of ambitious PPEM system that boosts and makes the revenue collection system more transparent with proper check for power thefts, it is also hoped from the department that the loopholes that lies within are also taken care of.

NAMSAI: The Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) was formally launched in Namsai District by Zilla Chairperson J K Muanglang at PHC Lathao in presence of the Director (Family Welfare) Govt of Arunachal Pradesh, Dr Hage Tabyo along with team members Dr T.Taloh OSD (IMR) and Dr. D. Padung (Nodal Officer) NHM.
Muanglang said the diarrhoeal diseases are very common in summer or monsoon season particularly flood affected areas and asked the health department to take care and prevent any untoward event.
Dr. Hage Tabyo requested all Medical Officers present in the meeting to be dedicated in their services. He said IDCF is a mission mode and there should be zero death under five years during the fortnight campaign.
Dr. D Padung also gave a brief presentation in reporting system and highlighted the prevention of Diarrheal disease.
Dr. Nani Rika, DMO, said that the event was being organised with the ultimate aim of zero child death due to childhood diarrhoea.
He emphasised on role of ANMs and ASHAs in prevention of the childhood Diarrhoea through ORS, Infant and Young childhood feeding (IYCF) and demonstration of hand wash to School children.
SEPPA: The Intensified Diarrhoea Control Programme (IDCF) will be observed in East Kameng along with rest of the State till 8th August. The IDCF was launched at District Hospital Seppa yesterday by M. Cheda, Zilla Chairperson.

ZIRO, Jul 28: Tourists from outside Ziro Valley leave with memorable and pleasant experience, but it would have been pretty pleasing more if there were good road infrastructure. They take a nightmarish experience back home when it comes to road communication. Terrible road condition might discourage them to visit the valley again.
Poorly maintained roads can be seen everywhere here. For instance, the road in between Hapoli and Old Ziro near Saw Mill at Akho Ubyo which got sunk due to collapse of a culvert remained unattended for several years posing great threat to the commuters.
Taking serious note of the problem, the Ziro unit of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) led by local MLA Tage Taki today conducted a voluntary social service and repaired the damaged portion of the road by digging up the ravages and putting pipes for free passage of water.
“I have witnessed several vehicular accidents, particularly two wheelers where some got injured. I appreciate Ziro unit of BJP workers for taking up such a yeomen service,” said Christoper Michi Tajo, a reputed tour operator of the state.

Great loss
With the passing away of former president APJ Abdul Kalam country have lost a great son. Popularly known as missile man Kalam died yesterday at Shillong. He collapsed while addressing the students of IIM Shillong and was later declared death at a city hospital. His funeral will be conducted tomorrow at his birth place Rameshawaram. Despite being born in a poor family, Kalam rose to prominence by occupying the post of the president of India.
He spent four decades as a scientist and science administrator, mainly at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and was intimately involved in India's civilian space program and military missile development efforts. His crucial role in the Pokhran nuclear test is well known to everyone. Even after demitting the office of the president, Kalam continued his active interaction with the students. In May 2010, Kalam had attended the 2nd Convocation of NERIST and inspired many Arunachalee students with his enigmatic lecture. The greatest contribution of president Kalam to the nation apart from his scientific work was his strong thrust on the need to educate every child. He believed that the only way India can be developed is by giving proper education to its children who are considered to be the future citizen. Kalam himself achieved success in life only because of education and therefore firmly believed that poverty can be eradicated only through education. As a mark of respect to late Kalam, we all should strive hard to achieve his dream of educating every child. He has inspired generation of Indians with his achievement and hopefully will continue to do so in future too.

He lived a life of example and always been a mentor and a great teacher. He made us feel safe and stronger in the field of defence by spearheading the Integrated Missile Development Program (IMDP) and earned the title of missile man. He was visionary, not only for our country, but for the entire human race.
The nation salutes you, the world bow in your respect. We lost an Indian, we lost a great mind and we lost a great soul. Let us offer our deepest and most humble prayers for one of the great soul that ever lived.

Save lives
Dear Editor,
Taking privilege through your esteemed daily, I would like to draw the immediate attention of the Health Department and state government on recent death of 7 years old boy at Dollungmukh due to Japanese Encephalitis infection (JE).
Dollungmukh comprising of more than 5000 people and eleven villages is known as disturbed area with boundary dispute between Assam and Arunachal. There is only one Primary Health Centre (PHC) but no medical facilities and Ambulance. Doctors and other staffs never come for duty. Student organizations have made a lot of complaint against the absentee medical staff to the concern authority but nothing has been done about it.
Now, Dollungmukh needs immediate attention as there are no medical facilities, no electricity supply or proper road connectivity. Many times, our people had begged the state government for all round development but why is state government treating us differently?
Therefore I would like to urge the concern department to immediately send medical team with equipments to save more lives in Dollungmukh.

Dear Editor,
Through you, I wish to pour out my grief over recent rape of a class VI student in Dumporijo.
Increasing crime rates and criminal activities in the state are unstoppable because of flexible law and order. It is said that the three accused were easily given bail and now freely roaming in the area without any regret for the crime they committed.
How can a man freely roam after committing such a heinous act? What if they rape another innocent girl? After all they know how easy it to get bail after committing a crime.
Such criminals shouldn’t have place in the society and the community. It is a shame that there have been instances where some wealthy and renowned persons have helped the criminals for political gain. It is a shameful act.
Being a common man of the state, I strongly condemned such heinous act and plead justice for the handicapped minor girl.
